Interview with Austin:

Austin Nicholas from Riga to World Out There

Austin visited Riga for a New Years Eve party at the end of 2003 and never went home. Awestruck by electric atmosphere and sense of excitement in this fascinating Baltic capital, Austin had an inclination that there were many opportunities to be seized upon during this period of dramatic change in Latvia.

Within 6 months, Austin had founded and established Europe Out There, an online incoming tourism agency offering unforgettable experiences for visitors to Latvia. “There are so many amazing experiences, activities and things to do here in Latvia, I was simply wanting to make the inaccessible accessible’.

The company has since expanded and evolved in to one of the leading tourism hospitality and service provider companies in Latvia. In 2007 with the continued success of Europe Out There, Austin decided to expand operations to include the two other Baltic countries: Lithuania and Estonia - Vilnius Out There and Tallinn Out There respectively.

Austin considers the Out There project to be a bit of a ‘sagrada famille’; a project that will never be complete. He believes this should be a mantra for any online business. Austin continues to enhance, modify and improve the Europe Out There website to ensure that the site is optimized and that the customer’s virtual experience is as rewarding as their Out There experience!

So what is next step for Austin and Europe Out There?

Austin is currently developing the current a global site entitled World Out There. A system that will allow web users to browse and book experiences throughout the world directly with the supplier.  “World  Out There will enable the tour guides  and suppliers to concentrate on  what they do best, showing visitors to their country a wonderful time and experience, and allow us to help support them with their online presence and booking management process. It will also ensure great value – as the supplier will be selling directly to the customer’.

The website will be an example of the peer to peer revolution in web development.  It will allow the content and activities to be uploaded by the service providers and customers!  Customers will have the control – with the capability of rating and reviewing the services on offer. The review and rating will help to guarantee that the tour is ran to Europe Out There standards. 3 negative reviews and this particular experience will be removed.

The fact that there is no cost of entry will encourage supplier to openly upload their experiences and allow them to be sold under the Europe Out There umbrella.

Austin plans to travel extensively in the short distant future to fulfill his childhood ambition ‘to see the World’, meeting providers, experiencing the activities and enjoying the world Out There adventure!
