Below is a list of tourist unfriendly clubs and bars and are certainly establishments to avoid like the plague when visiting and partying in Riga. Feel free to print off this list and take it with you on your travels to Riga.
They take advantage of tourists and give Riga and its nightlife an undeserved bad reputation. These are the bars and clubs in Riga that are the reason for many of the negative blogs and reviews you read on the interenet. These establishments have become notorious for credit card fraud extortion scams, prostitution rings and violence by organized criminals. Embassy staff and their family members are officially prohibited from patronizing these locals. These prohibitions were put into place to ensure the safety of American Embassy employees and their family members. As noted in the Country Specific Information, these scams can occur at other facilities as well. All American citizens are reminded to be vigilant to avoid becoming a victim of this type of crime.
Below we have listed some bars that have a 'no entrance to tourists door policy'. As I have stated in my insight to Riga's Nightlife, a lot of changes have occured in relatively short time in Riga and some bars have made the business decision to solely cater for a domestic crowd. May not seem particularly diplomatic and perhaps their mindset will change for now. But for time being lets respect their policy and party in places in Riga where you are most certainly welcome.
