The Riga Latvian Society house (1909)
The first Riga Latvian Society (RLS) house was built after the project of Janis Fridrihs Baumanis in 1869. In 1897 the building was enlarged and modified after the project of an architect Konstantins Pekšens. In 1908 this building was completely destroyed by fire.
The RLS immediately set to the renovation of the house. In the April of the next year a new project by E. Laube and E. Pole was approved and the house was built. The work was finished and the house was sanctified in the December 1909. E. Laube and E. Pole were assigned to work out the final project.
