Visitors will be impressed by the beauty of this prestigious palace built by Rastrelli in the 18th century which contains 136 rooms. If You apply for the visit in advance, the master of court's ceremonies and the maid of honour will welcome You on the parade stairway. By the court etiquette, they go downstairs to meet guests, thus showing great respect.
In the most luxurious hall - Gold Hall (Throne Hall) special attention was paid to each guest. In Gold hall were given Official receptions and ceremonial speeches. Guests were greeted there as well.
Music had always sounded in the White hall. The most popular dance of the 18th century was minuet, the dance movements were mild, light and easy. Guests had had a great opportunity to show their gorgeous and amazing costumes.
After the visit of state apartments You are welcome to the duke's private apartments, that consist of luxurious salons in rococo style. One of the most beautiful salons is Rose room. The courtiers will tell you about the history of Duke's family in the Private apartments of Duke. You will hear interesting facts about the life of court of the 18th century, like special ceremonies - "good morning" and "good night" in Duke's State bedroom.

The walk through alleys and the green gallery of French Regular Park will be a nice attribute of your historical trip. You can admire the wonderful rococo roses near the Gardeners house, and walk until the green theatre through the Green gallery.
