Dagstur til slottet i Rundale
Slottet i Rundale er et av Latvias viktigste minner fra barokk- og rokkokotiden. Den italienske arkitekten Francesco Bartolomer Rastrelli tegnet og oppførte dette mektige bygget. Etter at eieren, hertuginnen Anna Janovna døde, ble hertugen arrestert og deportert til Russland.

Sigulda befinner seg i den vakreste delen av dalen som er gravd ut av elven Gauja. Rød sandstein danner bratte heng og huler langs begge sider av elven. På grunn av Siguldas naturlige skjønnhet, går dette området ofte under navnet Latvias Sveits.
