 FONOFEST is an annual music and sports festival which will take place on the 8th and 9th of July in Latvia, Cēsis county, Uplandi.

With 6 successful years behind, FONOFEST has become one of the most popular summer events in Latvia. It stands out from other summer festivals with its unique concept, which encourages our youth to enjoy an active lifestyle. FONOFEST contributes a great deal to subculture development, demonstrating live music and amateur sports as current spare time activities.

FONOFEST has become popular not only in Latvia, but also attracts visitors from abroad, mainly from our neighboring countries. The selection of festival activities makes the crowd very diverse and again our goal is to offer something for all tastes and ages. The bands, arranged on several stages throughout the weekend, will cover all styles from blues and pop to rock and metal.

Popular British folk-rock musician Frank Turner will headline this year's festival. During two days more than 40 bands from eight different countries including bands such as "P.O. Box" (Fr), "The Burning Hell" (Can), "Dzelzs vilks", "Pienvedēja piedzīvojumi", "Pete Anderson & The Swamp Shakers", “Schizma” (Pl), Sanctimony and many more will perform on four stages. The best and well-known Latvian DJs will provide a fun party as well.

Sports activities this year will include beach volleyball and sand soccer tournaments, a skateboard competition, rock climbing, bungee jumping and others.

Each year FONOFEST gathers a few thousands of visitors. For instance, last year 4000 people visited the festival. This year we expect the number to grow by at least one thousand.
