When to Visit?
Riga is undoubtedly an all-year destination. During the summer the nearby white-sand beaches are packed with half-clad sun-worshipers, whilst during the height of winter Riga resembles the scene on a traditional Christmas card with its cobbled streets, church spires and medieval buildings wrapped in a blanket of pristine snow.

Latvians going cinema crazy!
More than 2 million cinema seats were sold in Latvia during 2007. Despite the death of the small cinema theatre in Latvia there was actually a rise of around 22 per cent in cinema audiences last year.
