The Large Guild, for its part, was established in 1354 by tradesmen in Rīga, and the guild monopolized trade in the city until the 19th century. Today the building is the home of the Latvian Philharmonic Orchestra.

Since the opening of the new exhibition hall in March 2000, the International Exhibition Centre in Kipsala has become the largest exhibition facility in the Baltic States with indoor space of 17 200 m2. The parking area is intended for parking 1,200 motor vehicles.

The first Riga Latvian Society house was built after the project of Janis Fridrihs Baumanis in 1869. In 1897 the building was enlarged and modified after the project of an architect Konstantins Pekšens. In 1908 this building was completely destroyed by fire.The work was finished and the house was sanctified in the December 1909.
