Make It Through Wilderness!
Boardwalk in the Lielais Kemeru tirelis bog! This 3-km long trail is weaving through the kingdom of mosses and little bog lakes. Here the wood sandpipers live, and you can find cranberries and sundew – a plant that catches insects. This tour give you a grasp of Latvia's unique and complex ecosystem.
A part of the park's territory was shaped by the ancient Littorina Sea , which left behind rows of inland dunes and shallow lakes ( Lakes Kaņieris , Dūņieris, Sloka).
This territory was relatively little affected by the human activity, mainly in the coastal fishing villages and in agricultural lands around Slampe.
The walking tour include:
1. Boardwalk in the Lielais Kemeru tirelis bog.
2. Black alder swamp’s board-walk where you can see the floodplain black alder forests that flood in spring, and the River Vēršupīte.
3. Kemeri town with its many remnants from the spa times.
4. Wild horses and Auroxen in Dunduru meadows.
Riga Out There will offer ou a boardwalk in the big Kemeri bogland, a black alder swamp board walk, a sightseeing tour of Kemeri spa town, a visit to wild horses and auroxen in Dunduru meadows. Guide and bus transfer are included.
